PHAIDON COLOUR PRESS SERIES (PHAIDON PRESS)
Series Note: "Alongside Thames and Hudson's World of Art series, Phaidon's colour-plate mongraphs on the greats have consistently proved that glossy art books need not exist only as ornaments. Nor do they have to puzzle with awkward translations from the French, the Italian, or the German. Keeping all the excellent illustrations together, Phaidon ensure that their texts are short and to the point; the unexpected bonus is that they are often provocative as well." -- Waldmar Januszczak, "Two pages a year is all", in: The Guardian (London), 10 January 1980, p. 7.
This series of hardbacks with boards bound in one of following: burgundy, cinnamon, light blue, etc. Gilt titling to spine. Dust wrappers.
