Series Note: Landmark Books was a series of children's books featuring stories of significant people and events in American history. The series was intended for ages 10 to 15. Format: under 200 pages, and illustrated with maps and drawings. 122 titles were published in all, some of which were written by C. S. Forester, Shirley Jackson, MacKinlay Kantor, Quentin Reynolds, Robert Penn Warren and many other other noted authors.

There were two subseries: Landmark Giant and World Landmark Books.
