Series Note: "One series that lasted is geared to limited editions of English translations of Indian classics, originally priced at one rupee. This was the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's 'Book University' series, which offered translations by eminent Indian scholars. Begun in 1951, two of its most successful titles are by Rajagopalachari: his translation of the Mahabharata has been reprinted twenty-three times while his Ramayana is in its twentieth edition."
