Series Note: This is a series of children's readers. The text in many of the books in this series is in English (the lingua franca of Zimbabwe); in other books in this series the text is in either Ndebele or Shona, two of Zimbabwe's other major languages.
"Dandaro" is a Shona word meaning "leisure; freedom from occupation or business; vacant time; time free from employment".

The Mambo Press was founded in 1957 as the Catholic Mission Press of the Diocese of Gweru. It name was changed in c. 1962 to its current name, Mambo Press. The press is located in Gweru (formerly known as Gwelo), a city in central Zimbabwe.
